A nine-month Apprenticeship Program at Camp Roger will give gap year and recent college grads a residential experience living and working in an outdoor setting. Become part of the year-round camp community that ensures the success of camp in the fall, winter, and spring, and summer. We are looking for individuals who are interested in cultivating their gifts through a variety of unique experiences. Through outdoor education leadership, curriculum planning, staff meetings, site projects, program development, and the mentorship of our staff, learn to root yourself more deeply in God’s vision for you. Encounter God’s love with kids in the woods; develop new skills; challenge yourself; celebrate the beauty of the ordinary.
- To offer apprentices experience in a variety of areas of nonprofit leadership (Outdoor Education, Site and Program Development, Advancement, etc.)
- To strengthen apprentices in their gifts and passions
- To initiate and cultivate spiritual growth in community
Both programs will run from August to May. Housing will be provided at the Camp Roger campus for the duration of the apprenticeship. Housing assignments will be made once the hiring process is completed.
All apprentices will gain experience working with kids through one or more of our Outdoor Education programs (Homeschool Program, School Groups, etc.). Every apprentice will also receive training in the elements of our ropes course (Climbing Tower, High Ropes, Zipline).
