How are cabin assignments made?
In addition to the people in your paid registration, you are welcome to request up to two people to be part of your cabin for the day, within that form. Those cabin groups will be used a couple of times throughout the day, but not the entire time.
For campers who do not request cabinmates, we take care to assign them to cabins in which there are other campers who have not requested cabinmates. Many of our campers come on their own, and we are mindful of this when making cabin assignments. Our counselors are very intentional about helping campers build friendships and community within their cabin group.
We will have a photographer at Grown-Up Camp, taking your cabin photo, as well as photos of you and your friends enjoying the fall weather and activities.

What if I have special dietary needs?
Please make sure to respond with any dietary needs on your registration form. This will help us prepare and provide good options for you.
Can I have my phone with me?
Summer campers at Camp Roger are required to leave their phones at home. We believe that community and nature are priorities while a camper attends Camp.
FOR GROWN-UP CAMP, we invite you to stay off your phones as well, throughout the day. We understand that as an adult, you are different from a child who comes to our camps. But if you want an excuse to ignore social media and group texts and alerts - you have our permission! Football fans, in the back corner of Ridge Hall, we will have YouTube TV playing multiple college games throughout the day for checking scores.
And you won't even need your phone for photos; our photographer worked at Camp this summer and is a PRO at capturing the big and small moments of our programs. We'll send a link to the file after Camp!

What if I get homesick?
We want every camper (regardless of age) to have a positive experience at camp. To help ensure that, our counselors are trained in comforting a camper who is missing his or her home and loved ones and in normalizing these feelings. We work with campers to get them involved in activities, helping them find things that they enjoy doing, and we continue checking in with them regularly to make sure camp is still overall a positive experience for them.
