Homeschool program

Camp Roger’s Homeschool Programs for Elementary and Middle/High School are wonderful opportunities for your child to interact with other children and gain a deeper understanding of God and the world around them.
Experienced teachers and leaders guide your student through a variety of activities, classes, and play throughout their time at Camp.

As a registered Homeschool student, your child will attend one day every month, throughout the entire 2024-25 school year.
Classes begin in September and end in May (see the Homeschool Calendar link below for specifics).
You may also choose to add Enrichment Classes for your elementary student.

Students must turn the age listed by September 30, 2024.
Classes are from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Students need to bring a sack lunch. Transportation is not provided.

Registration for the 2024-25 Homeschool Program opens on April 22, 2024, at 8:00 am and closes on September 30.
** Tuesday and Friday Elementary classes are now full.**

Homeschool FAQ

My child's age qualifies for two programs, how do I decide between them?

Camp Roger is deliberate about creating a progression between program types and hopes your student will benefit from multiple years in each age group. The overlap between ages within some programs allows flexibility when deciding the appropriate group for your child. First, consider the academic level that is the best fit for your child and then match that to a corresponding program.

How much will your homeschool program cost?

The cost of each program is listed above within the description.

Payment is due at the time of enrollment. Please note: an additional $25 will be added to any registration received after September 1.  A confirmation email will be sent after we receive your registration and payment. If you need to pay with cash or check, please email krista@camproger.org for instructions.

There will be no prorated refunds for program days missed (ie, illness or  weather-related cancellations).

Can I register with a friend, sibling, or group?

When registering, you may request that your child be grouped with a friend or sibling within a two-year age range. Elementary groups are by age and typically follow ranges such as ages 6-8, ages 8-10, and ages 10-12. This may affect some friends or siblings being together, but we have found this to be best for the learning experience of the students. There are opportunities for students to connect with other groups during morning break, lunch, group activities, etc.

Groups are created in September prior to the start of the program. Requests for friend or group changes will not be accepted after the first class.

What if I need to switch our scheduled sessions or cancel our registration?

Prior to the program start date, you can request to switch your scheduled sessions or cancel your child’s registration by calling our camp office or emailing our registrar at krista@camproger.org. Prompt notification is appreciated and may allow for another student to register. Sessions can be switched at no cost as openings allow. A $15 administrative fee will be charged for cancellations, and the remainder of your payment will be refunded with adequate notice. Registrations are non-transferable. After the program begins, no refunds will be granted.

When does registration open and how does it work?

Registration opens this year on April 22 at 8:00 am. Registrations are received on a “first come/first serve” basis. If you have not used our online registration system before, you will be required to create a new account before registering. We update our website as classes are filled.

What is your attendance policy during the school year?

If your student will not be attending on a scheduled program day, please inform our Outdoor Education staff by email at loie@camproger.org or by calling Camp Roger’s office at 616-874-7286.  There will be no prorated refunds for program days missed (ie, illness or  weather-related cancellations).
